Terry (RIP) from Underthunk by the whippet beans

Terry was a vegetable You know I think he said he was an onion,
He lived next door to a tea towel in the cupboard under the the sink.
Terry was my best friend for the best of seventeen months,
then his skin went grey, and he really started to stink.

Well I wonder have you ever seen an onion crying?
Cos I looked down at Terry, and that’s exactly what I saw.
Terry looked at me and said “It feels as though I’m dying”
“I’m cryîng ´cos it seems that I’ve done nothing with me life at all”

And I said “Terry, don’t worry about a thing
It’s gonna be alright,
You funny little onion,
Oh Terry,
I'm here with you tonight and everything's fine. x

But Terry was still worried etc…

he said “Me brother got a job on a pizza and me dad was the best in show, me sister & me mam… they were both onion rings."
"But I just sit in this cupboard, and I sometimes talk to you, I could have been so many different things… "


..and there are 2 verses that conclude the story nicely and round off a lovely little tale delivered on a gorgeous melody scooter. Can’t be arsed typing them out x
