The Space Between Us return in 2020 with the second instalment of their local artists compilations, entitled "Hybrida" - the first flower to bloom in outer space.
All artists on the release are Brisbane-based, and the 8-track release spans a range of sounds - showing a cross section of the city's exciting musical fabric.
Opener, "Europa" is a bright bubbly fusion of breakbeat and electro synth-pop, followed by downtempo breaks (and Australiana vibes) of "Acid Walk Through Minyon Falls".
"Proto Psy Werkout" is high energy trance-infused techno fit for a heaving dancefloor, as is the highly percussive "Spring Inevitably Turns To Fall".
Trippy, dubbed out breaks feature in "When I'm Gone (Break Mix)", while "Transport" is a trip hop journey with a hypnotic acid line throughout.
"Marvie" explores a darker energy with more experimental arrangement, while "AREA 1" takes the listener to a feeling of weightlessness, as if floating through the stratosphere.
We stand in solidarity with the black community. The first week of proceeds will be donated to Seed Mob - an indigenous organisation fighting for climate justice. Read more at seebmob.org.au
