Untitled (2001) by OF PURITANS AND LEPERS

These were my VERY first songs and the VERY first "album" I ever recorded and released. Everything (recording/mixing) was done in my college dorm room from March-May of 2001. My friend Shawn E. (who was in a dorm room down the hall with my longtime buddy and longtime bandmate in Absolved, Byron B.) had been recording his own music that year and when he let me listen to his demos and then showed me the gear he used, I was immediately intrigued (especially by how feasible a project like that could be). I borrowed his Tascam 4-track cassette recorder, an acoustic guitar soundhole pickup, a mic, and a Boss Chorus pedal. I had my own Takamine acoustic guitar. And so it began. Thank you, Shawn!!! I dubbed about 10 copies onto cassettes, made my own labels and inserts, and gave a few of em out. I still have one or two of those. I also still have the master 4-track cassette as well. It's so cool to look back and see where all the madness began!
