Originally released in 1972 on the famed Strata-East label, co-founder and pianist Stanley Cowell is joined by six of the most talented pianists of their day—Nat Jones, Hugh Lawson, Webster Lewis, Harold Mabern, Danny Mixon, and Sonelius Smith—and aptly named The Piano Choir, for a never-before-executed concept and one of the most sought-after albums of the era, Handscapes. Now remastered directly from the original analog tapes, this legendary album is available in digital format for the first time.
