Simple Natures by The Owl

I am highly thankful every day for where I am these days.

In mind - in body - in heart - of sound - everything.

Truly lucky and I will never take it for granted.

This album will forever remind me of how chaotic and insane some parts of my life has been, and how much easier, safer, warmer, less head breaking and body damaging it is now.

I regret losing connections with some friends over the years, and I hugely miss some great people from my old home town of Leeds, of the UK generally, and I thank them dearly and strongly for amazing times, memories, conversations.

You all gave me the strength to continue living, and to be able to eventually find my real peace when I moved to Czech.

released January 11, 2025

Tracks 2-5 recorded between September 17th and October 13th 2024, with the intention of combining for a single track. I decided they worked better on their own, and that shaped the mood for something minimal, low-key, more honest.

'Rain variations' originated from 95 minutes of heavy rain fall on September 14th 2024; the first night of the Czech and Europe floods.

'Thinking back' is a 3am insomnia fuelled bass sketch idea sometime in 2017! I refound the video, and it felt like it matched what was coming together in this album. The closing track has the melody stretched to tie the whole collection together.

I hope 'Simple Natures' works for you in the same way it works for me.
