We played these songs primarily at Ottos, but also Cabaret Metro, the Blind Pig, an NIU wind festival, a candle-lit packaged goods store that was also a bar, and a nursing home to name just a few venues. We recorded all over the place, too, looking for the best sounds (in all the wrong places). A true sophomore effort - refined everything compared to the first one. The joy was in having a big band with tons of friends supporting us wherever we went. And sea shanties - maybe those were the joy.

Back in the mid-to-late 1990s, The Magnificent Ambersons took DeKalb, Illinois (and a select group of other Midwestern towns) by storm, playing their take on power pop/independent rock. Buoyed by a cadre of friends and family, the Ambersons released 2 full-length CDs and had 40+ songs at the ready for any type of live engagement. Then, suddenly, and ill-fated taco dinner. IYKYK.
