πΈπΆ Taking It Easy with "Bumps and Grooves" πΆπΈ
This track is all about taking a step back and enjoying the simple grooves. I wanted to create something that could be listened to in the background as you're driving or studying, but also keep you interested, if you wanted to pay attention to the music itself.
π£οΈπ΅ Just me, my guitar (electric and bass), and a groove that bumps along. I tried to create different sonic textures over the repeating bass line. I also mixed up the rhythmic conditions by changing up where the chorus guitar lines enter.
Originally titled 'Dig the Dig,' this track was intended as a companion piece to 'Digging for Treasure.' However, a twist of fate and some technical delays led to a reimagining of the song.
The new inspiration came unexpectedly when my wife listened to the track. She described it as 'gyri and sulci' β the intricate bumps and grooves of the brain. Intrigued by her interpretation, she then drew what the song felt like to her, resulting in an image of a dragon in hues of purple and red.
It felt serendipitous, especially since it's the Year of the Dragon, and this is my first release of the year. So, embracing this new vision, 'Bumps and Grooves' was born β a title and theme that capture the essence of the music and its unexpected journey from concept to release.
I hope you'll find this tune a groovy companion to your daily routine!
