Accidental Photograph by The Gluespots

The driving riff, use of delay and reverb and relentless drums. Have The Gluespots gone shoegaze? Well....no.

The track started as an excuse to play around with the brilliant Boss DD- T Delay pedal and play with the settings on some guitar lines. Slowdive's 'Star Roving' was in our thoughts at this point. A ropey post cold vocal gave the track its working title of 'Dyche' - a Burnley Shaun reference. The demo is track 3 here, thankfully pre-vocal.

We re-recorded what we considered to be the best parts adding some extra guitar lines, keys and a clearer structure. The most notable part was the descending 'Just like Heaven' riff Jim provided which we loved so much we were in danger of it swamping the song initially so we rowed back on it a bit.

Leo added the sax lines and then we overdubbed vocals and drums at The Dugout. Night walking became the focus of the song despite the slightly ominous connotations. we wanted each section to have a slightly different vocal sound.

The accidental photograph used for the 'artwork' is a real photo taken when stepping back and tripping over a misplaced boulder on a family day out. Remarkably no injury occurred but it produced an unrepeatable series of images which cried out to be used for the track.

We've added a second DD-T3 pedal now so lets see where that takes us.......

Hampshire brothers Jim and Dave, aided by Geoff, Rod, Leo and other compadres, The Gluespots write songs and record them. What do they sound like? Essentially indie- acoustic but with occasional unlikely forays into synths and rock and roll.
