The year 2022 marks 10 years making his imprint on the underground music scene in his hometown of Cleveland (by way of Shaker Heights, amongst whom Kid Cudi, MGK, Daniel Arsham have made their mark). From his coming out party in 2012 as a producer to his rise in demand from 2014-2016 and today, Givtyd is known to blur the lines between that classic Ohio bounce, soul music that is not limited to genre, and current sounds of today.

After a brief hiatus of four years from music as a whole, Givtyd had temporarily relocated from Atlanta, Georgia (where he's still a resident) back to his home city, Cleveland, Ohio. Sure, it has been a slow climb back tapping into the endless potential and notoriety he has garnered before he took a break, but patience has paid off.

Coming off impressive musical runs with his friend and collaborator of 20+ years Bat Boy Bankie, as well local artists such as Astronaut K.I., Sted Lee & NicX, Givtyd has taken a step further in separating himself from his music producer peers ---- this time as an artist and composer.

First offering that he has is this highly infectious and energetically potent instrumental project, titled "ugoneslideonwhat?!". The question is hypothetical and a charged-up statement simultaneously.

Givtyd explains, "these past two years have taken a lot out of all of us from all angles; it also takes a special type of people to get up and keep on moving regardless. I thought I'd make it easier for those who aren't as strong to get up and move forward".

Needless to say, gearing up to release two more projects by the end of 2022, it's easier said than done. After all, that's what "they" want you to think.
