This was a conscious attempt to work in the vein of Schulze's more recent work, where the sequences are strung out over many bars to become part of the melody and there's a mix of bright digital sounds and warm analog skronk. There are two pieces here that were recorded live to "tape" - Mainstage - in single takes, no overdubs, to a stereo pair with all sequencing and timbre modification done live. Here I have used the best parts of those sessions and supplemented them with bridges and transitions.
The Gigantic Legless Cauldrons is the name under which Simon Pride releases electronic music. The name comes from an object label from the Knossos museum in Crete, which he thought would be a great name for a band. Many years later he was able to make this a reality.
