Waterloo Green was constructed as an interstellar rock opera. It involves spaceships that travel from Neptune to New York in 1951 to conquer the Earth, where they are thwarted by time-traveling scientists from 1967 who defeat them using dope and surrealism. Antique Airplanes and Hyperprisms are used to conquer infinite space as the opposing factions meet on Avenue D on New York’s Lower East Side, exchange tarot cards, and then visit a strip club called the Pink Harem. By the song Snowing, the space travelers realize they’re in over their heads. Stoned, ankle-deep in snow, and utterly confounded by a row of candy canes that are sleeping peacefully on the lawn of Julie B who dances at the Pink Harem, they gradually decide to piss off back to Neptune.
