“STREET TACTIC”
a collaboration from: The Fire Brigade
G’Odd
featuring:
FREE FANTASY VERSE
WAAZU
and:
BOXHEAD WALKER
produced by G’Odd at CF Hawn studio and MECCA mobile
Single/Video:
“Street Tactic” is a challenging work of experimental sound
design, rooted in hip and brings together a diverse group of
contributors.
It is meant to reflect the voices echoing on the streets of the
“bad part of town” in Everywhere, USA.
Crushing bass, and minimalist beats provide a back drop for
the hiss and crackle of G’Odd, some ambient freakery from
Free Fantasy Verse, the jarring interlude of Waazu’s gospel/r&b
Until being finished off with some classic MC’n from Boxhead
Walker.
The accompanying music video draws upon manipulated images
of cityscapes, crude animation, and lo-fi effect trickery, attempting
to show a glimpse of the world invoked by the song.
“Street Tactic” is a listening/viewing about as comfortable as
a night alone on the sidewalk of an unfamiliar neighborhood, on the
wrong side of the track marks.
The Fire Brigade are reluctant Americans who make strange hip hop as they wander the Earth in the Early Apocalypse. G'Odd and his crew man the crystal mines of 2105, 24-7. Boxhead Walker is a smooth-talking rounder without a care in the world. The Battalion Chief issues commands from a nest of synthesizers and empty bottles at Mission Control. Flame on, bitches.
