[Lyrics by Eþelweard]
1.
I wander through the night,
Holding close
The soul
Of a love once held in flesh,
Now held in spirit alone.
The stars above us,
Weep for my loss.
As the trails of stardust
Ignite,
And the fireflies fill the forest.
The darkness comforts,
Like a blanket,
The fractured heart
and the weary body,
Desperate to crumble.
To fall to dust,
To rot and decay,
So the worms
May peel my skin
And release my soul.
So we may hold each other
Once more.
2.
At the edge of the lake,
Where the fireflies
Dare not follow.
The only light,
That cold,
Uncaring moon.
I sit, and stare,
At the black ink
That shimmers,
Like a void
A pit to the centre
Of nothingness and eternity.
The white light
Clinical and uncaring
Tears at the darkness
To leave me exposed
Isolated
Alone
Forever.
3.
We shall kiss beneath the bodies
Of the hanging.
And dance upon the platform
Of the guillotine.
Free of restraint
And of restriction,
As our bodies turn to cinders,
And the ashes are scattered
Amongst the ruins of their world.
Our love will burn
Hotter than the crematorium,
That reduces us to nothingness,
And releases our souls.
And together we shall usher in,
The end of days.
Termina.
4.
All this could have been,
But it was not
Meant to be.
And so I sit alone,
By the black shores
Of eternity.
And I part my veins,
Under the edge of cold steel,
To rejoin you,
Forever,
To watch as it rots.
All that we love.
Termina.
