Good Friday by The Calendar Years

This album started in 2017 when Forefront Brooklyn couldn't afford event space & I suggested we do a Facebook livestream instead. In the space of a week I recorded arrangements for about 7 songs & I sang the vocals live in the service. I thought I might go back & record the vocals one day & release it as a record. But then 2020 rolled in & in isolation I started tinkering with this record again. Something about the collective grief of the pandemic mirrored the personal grief I was going through in 2017. So I chipped away this record for about a year & I'm thrilled with the sprawling, dark result. Hope you find some solace in this record about betrayal, grief, & the loss of certainty.
