We five, atop the old Moontower. Far above the rocks below, we keep watch for thieves and travelers. The hunger keeps us comatose. Alive (for now) among the shadows, we spin a tale of loss and woe. Of ghosts that haunt this ancient battleground, where Hannibal laid them low.
“We’ve done nothing wrong!”
Survived out here this long, they’ll find our wasted bones. We hide within this frozen obelisk, with no fire to stay the cold. Our hearts remain ever loyal, our swords are sworn to Lords of old. We five, atop the old Moontower. Far above the rocks below, the buzzards crowd the sky around us, and wait for us to decompose.
