Algedonic by The BlueStocking
The name of this debut LP, “Algedonic”, means “pertaining to both pleasure and pain”.
It’s a kaleidoscope of graceful insanity, full of suave irony bordering on the paradoxical.
Focusing on the groups earlier creations, the album is a showcase of the variety of styles which create their distinctive sound: from the anthemic prog-punk manifesto of “OCD” and the ethereal lullaby of “Well” to the bluesy cabaret blockbuster “Never Ready”, finishing with the epic roller-coaster of “Look At My Face”.
