PLANET HOLLYWXVD by The Blues Brothters

The fifteenth and newest album from avant-punk-electro masterminds The Blues Brothters is a puzzlebox full of hidden truths pertaining to what seemingly is the United States' hegemony of the culture industry. Hollywood is a sick fucking place, full of shadowy middlemen who leak secrets straight down the middle of the demonic pipeline from the Satanic Disney Military Industrial Complex into what on it's surface looks like the most light-hearted family entertainment smorgasbord you could possibly imagine. By now we of course understand that even the most titillating of romps, like Zoolander or the multi-bazillion dollar 'Avengers' franchise for instance, contain all kinds of limited hangouts regarding mind control, gifted-children programs, psychic warfare, and many other sinister operations conjured up in smoke-filled rooms deeper than even some facets of the deep state themselves can locate on any kind of a map.

Recorded in the first half of 2021 inside a bunker at the very suspicious Lookout Mountain Air Force Base, at times Planet Hollywxvd gets so tangled up in the mysteries it is dissecting that one almost can't help suspecting the Brothters themselves might be working for The Agency. One could argue that this whole album could be controlled opposition, or maybe they've just done their research. Either way the paranoid mindset of the Brothters will intrigue even the newest of listeners. The music itself on Planet Hollywxvd is a gorgeously disorienting miasma of high energy club beats and blockbuster sampling. Basically this album is a lightning bolt to the skull.
