August 9th 2014, Michael Brown was shot 6 times by Officer Darren Wilson. He stole a box of cigarellos and made Wilson feel "like a 4 year old child". Michael Brown was only 17.

Earlier that year, on July 17th,Eric Garner was killed by an illegal chokehold performed by Officer Daniel Pantaleo. His crime was selling cigarettes.

In New York City (and beyond) police disproportionately surveil, harass, arrest and KILL people of color. Something must be done.
