I always kind of liked this song. I always thought that people would hate that it was a pretty slow tempo song. Chris Wallace like the song, so I was pretty stoked about that. The song is about looking in the mirror and seeing that you aren't such a hot shit yourself and feeling that it is too late to change. It really never is too late to change, though. A fun story about this song: We were on the road, playing Prince's Deli in Knoxville. Some lady named Julie set us up with the show. It was us and 69 Fingers. Anyways, we play and we get to the guitar solos. I play on top of a table and then jump off it. I'll be damned it Sam, the owner, grabs me by the shirt and starts yelling shit. I didn't know what he said at the time, but I guess he said no moshing. We stopped the song and he said, "you can dance, you can jump, but you can't mosh." I think those are words to live by. We then went right into the rest of the song, like fucking clockwork. At the end of the night, Sam said that he liked us a lot and wanted us to keep coming back and he was confident he could pack the place. He apologized for being so gruff. He unfortunately died soon thereafter, no shit. We went back once, it just wasn't the same. But we got free blankets...and Naked Matt.
