Subsequent to the recording of the first track was the composition of an entirely effects based piece originally titled "Meditating In The Temple Of Mars" in early-May 2020.

Heavily influenced by Black Sabbath's "FX", this track features extensive use of delay, phaser, synths, and tremolo to create a meditative atmosphere.

Other influences include the CIA-sourced transcript of a remote viewing session held on Mars. Descriptions within the transcript of structures and megaliths painted a world that further catalyzed the song that was eventually conceptualized.

Initial demos included a stock recording of a meditation mantra that served as "percussion". However, licensing rights for this recording were not able to be secured, requiring removal prior to final mastering. This mantra was later replaced by double tracking the main rhythm guitar to emulate the same sound.

In addition, at the conclusion of the original demo, the song would play backwards; doubling the final track time. This concept was abandoned as it interfered with the listenability of the EP as one contiguous piece.

Formed within the chaotic miasma of the pandemic, Anastatica is a psychedelic, progressive rock solo project born from a multifaceted need; to serve as a channel for anxious energies, to evocate self-expression and to represent the reinvention of the self.
