Moments by The 2120's
Christian & the 2120’s came to birth around 2008 when the main man, Christian Smedström had the urge of doing something outside the regular box of rock, and more important, try his own wings.
He teamed up with producer and mentor Kristoffer Ragnstam in his studio Scola in Gothenburg, Sweden. I’t turned out to be a really successful colabaration. In 2010 the debut ablum "Nolo Contendere" was released and his songs found their way to Hollywood.
His songs Evil Ways, Some People, Bringer of Heartache, It Ain’t Cool, Troubled Soul and 06:43 turned up in tv-shows like SONS OF ANACHY, CSI MIAMI, SHAMELESS, THE GOOD WIFE, BACKSTROM, MTV’s DEATH VALLEY and in movies like PUNCTURE, SHANGHAI CALLING, CONCRETE BLONDES and of course THE HEAT with SANDRA BULLOCK.
And not to forget, the song Some People went to be aired in the national TV commercial by Delta Pine about the State of Texas for 3 months in the US early 2011.
Christian & The 2120’s are constantly writing and producing new songs and touring relentless all over Europe.
Since the start there’s 4 full lengths, 2 ep’s and 2 singles under his belt up to date. The last album The Bunker Sessions also got to be album of the week in Dutch radio in 2014. The American company TARGET together with TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES used the song Smile at Trouble in their national TV commercial to promote the TMNT merchandise.
The year of 2015 Christian decided not to tour as much as usual, and to take his band to Berlin, Los Angeles, Gothenburg and Atlanta to record his new album, MOMENTS instead.
The album is produced and mixed by Kristoffer Ragnstam (Maia Hirasawa, John ME) and James Salter (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Raveonetts)
and album contains 12 blistering songs with guest appearences by John Thomas (Captain Beefhearts Magic Band) playing keys on 5 songs from the LA Sessions and Klas-Henrik Hörngren (Swedish grammy nominated of Klabbes Bank) did the keys on the Berlin sessions.
The album is called MOMENTS just because that’s what life really is, and this album is all about fulfilling the dreams and those moments that happens on the way, or as Christian put it himself:
"How cool isn't it to being able to go record in those places we’ve done, work with all those great people, and having legends like John Thomas coming down to the studio to record keys on my music, one of the biggest moments in my musical adventure so far!
And that is actually sums everything up.
These are moments like these that’s making every blood sweat and tears playing in every divebar and joints around the world worth every inch of it!"
