Just Because from Social Konstrukt by That Clare
On the 16th April 2025 the Supreme Court in the UK made a ruling against transgender and gender diverse people saying that what they described as biological sex assigned at birth would be the only genders recognised in law.
In one fell swoop they seek to erase the existence of trans people in the UK and this was further backed up by the Prime Minister Kier Starmer, the Minister for Health Wes Streeting, the women and minorities minister Brigitte Philipson and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) headed by Baroness Kisher Falconer which is supposed to uphold the equality act which protects marginalised groups and protected characteristics. It has been utterly devastating to trans folks in the UK.
And yet the Labour Government continue to try to use words to gloss over this and paint a picture of support and rainbow wash over our rights and feelings. This makes all of us less safe, not just trans people. If they can come for us, they can come for you too.
We see you. We won't forget this.
