Escape Myself by Tender Ender

Hello? It seems nobody’s home. Entering this track is like exploring an abandoned house, echoing with haunting sounds from a distant time: a piano that still works, albeit rather out of tune, an exquisitely played pedal steel guitar that truly captures the spirit of Nashville. But that’s not where this is going at all. Instead, we find ourselves in brick stone walled England, Radiohead posters fading on the facades.

The music is melodically rich and lyrically grim: you’re not alone in there, it’s just that everybody has buried their faces in their phones. You are the only real thing happening right now. You’re a Russian doll, shedding layer after layer, waiting to find your solid core. This is quite a trip. Just when you think you’ve heard it all, Sabine Ruch’s voice joins in, allowing the song to blossom fully as it reaches its conclusion. «Escape Myself» is the fourth single from Tender Ender’s debut album, due for release this autumn.
