O, Sertraline by Teenage Bigfoot

Mountains of myself are growing tall around the house.
In climbing them, I'm not much of a man,
more like a mouse,
looking up the Himalayas,
those shiny peaks miles above the clouds,
and dream that I'm a Sherpa,
while having me a lie down on the couch.

I didn't used to care for what people thought of me.
O, Sertraline,
I need more serotonin, please.
I smile nauseously...

When everything is lonesome,
I reach for the books high up on the shelf,
and when I claim, "I've not the words!"
it's spelt right there in ink just how I felt.
My roots are dug down deeper
than I'm willing to see within myself.
And I've been living my life reelin',
taking all these chances on my health.

I go making up scenarios
for times that I played victim
instead of friend.

And don't I long for solitude -
