Lyrics
Today I walked to the edge of the property
To see if there was a line, was a line
I’ve always, always thought there would be a line, a line
On the ground, on the ground
That marked the boundary, but I found nothing
I stopped at the stream
Thinking that water might make enough
Of a line in the earth to mark the boundary
Maybe not I thought the shoreline hangs over the stream
It’s undersides carved out hollow
By the water’s motion, so that the sides of the stream
Look like they’re reaching out to each other
I wonder how long, how long it will take
For them to make a bridge over the water, water
Leaving only a tunnel beneath the surface
