Playing music in a church is always special. Every single tone seems to be brighter, longer and more powerful than usual. Also every wrong tone is more present, more wrong, more misplaced. It takes some extraordinary concentration and skill to play here. However, we didn't have none of it but played somehow together. Our intention was to make a meeting of different instruments possible. First there is the Didgeridoo which is obviously an old indian word for „bad guitar player“. It is perfect for this long and noisy sound that fits into every situation (if you understand “every situation” as the moment when you awake after a long and drunk sleep). The Shakuhachi is a classic japanese flute which is hard to learn but easy to understand (it's kind of a zen – thing here): it only got five basic notes to play. A great instrument for everyone who hates classic musical education. The NAF which is short for the native american flute becomes more and more popular these days. It's a very basic flute which a colorful range of sound. You can hear it on various soundtracks (“The Icestorm” for example) and it goes from sad to happy like a Lamborghini (very fast).
Also a certain electronic influence and some field recordings have occurred in 2 tracks.
Anyway, having this special meeting of different instruments from very different cultural backgrounds makes clear: we don't do that again! We promise! Just buy this album and we'll leave you alone! But beside that we have the little hope, that some notes aren’t THAT wrong, some ideas we had became alive in the pieces that you hear and some moments are what we like to call “not that bad” (with a big grin in our faces). Because we think music is fun. The fun we have producing it, the fun you (should) have while listening to it. But what about art? - you might ask. Art is a great word but in the end it means the same as fun if you spell it correctly. It's another word for fun, more academically maybe but it should produce the same emotions as “fun”. By saying all of this what we really want to say is: have fun with this, with your life and friends, because it's a damn short ride and there’s really no time for regreting something.
