P: I, Phil, have mixed feelings about the destruction of the empire as an American. On the one hand, the Constitution was more or less designed to protect the people from the government, and I can respect that. Freedom for all. Liberty. All good things. But to see it reach a point where the constitution no longer protects us means that I'm happy to see the empire crumbling before our eyes. As an Anarchist, this is what I wanted. But I also mourn the potential loss of the comforts that I have taken for granted my whole life. I feel a sense of shame and pride. And the way that America is destroying its own identity on the world stage, exposing its own hypocrisy, and voting for its own destruction? It's bittersweet. But it also leaves a power vacuum, and that's potentially horrifying.

All I can do is hope that Humanity makes the right choices, and that we have beautiful new things to look forward to, instead of the destruction of everything leading to even more fascism.

H: Most of the ideas behind this song were actually recorded on a phone somewhere between 3 to 4 years ago in an apartment. Phil breathed so much life into these ideas that I am genuinely amazed how it all turned out. And not to mention the clean singing to the song, which was such a brilliant idea to include within the bittersweet atmosphere. I also made use of the Travis picking style for the intro, which I thought was a perfect way to start the song. Funny enough, it's all written in Drop G, the lowest guitar tuning on this EP. Years ago it was in Drop G#, but I went a half step lower on this and I think it matches our sound even more.
