Hailing from the old Chicago / Midwestern electronic scene, Angel Alanis started DJ’ing at the age of 14 and released his first record in 1996. In the years since, he’s released on labels ranging from Tresor and Tronic to recent material on Chicago Jaxxx and Resource Records.
Maria Goetz is an American techno producer, DJ, and rabbit fanatic with a growing catalog of releases both solo and in collaboration with husband and partner in crime Angel Alanis. A neuroscience nurse practitioner by day and techno lover by night, Maria is not afraid to get weird.
“Shock” finds the duo exploring the intersections of electro and techno. The title track brings together elements of classic Detroit electro with the jackin’ attitude of Chicago house and techno, resulting in a fresh sound that we absolutely love. For the b-side, Angel and Maria team up with D.Vices to deliver a growly electro tune titled “The Best Way.”
