"Since day one, I fell in love with music through radio broadcasting first, and then the deejay culture. It was all about records, turntables and samplers, big loudspeakers and dusty crates.

When I started making beats, I had no idea of music theory, and forget about production, mixing or mastering. I didn't have any user manual for my first Akai S-950.

Over the years, my passion for music has become a means of discovery for life balance, my kinda Zen garden.

My workflow and approach, as well as the machines for composing and recording beats, have changed over the years, albeit slightly. What has remained constant, and increased, is the attitude toward the fat and dirty, organic sound.

The original hip-hop flavour has always turned me on. It is still so today.

No wonder this first collection of sketches and compositions contains raw beats produced, arranged and mixed directly on my trusty Akai MPC 2500, and extrapolated from it with minimal DAW processing. Without any other intervention.

Everything is deliberately exactly as it sounds, and all the hiss and clicks and pops carried over are a faithful index of analogue sources. Errors and peculiarities are welcome, as well as static and crackles.

It is the very essence of my sound research. An unfiltered instrumental session straight from my home studio, where the speakers brew the magic potions for my stereo. And the neighbour jumps, of course.
