The Queer expression is one that has for so long been encoded, secret, and suspect, that visibility is both necessary and damaging; to find one another in the public space is to face our own physical destruction at the hands of those whom we have hidden from/been forced into hiding by.
The honest expression of self is very often our death sentence.
