Mapmaker from Mapmaker - Single by story•esque

The tiny bits of stardust faded from existence,
but only visually. For the particles persisted.
They traveled to my room and found me asleep.
Lost in some mundane dream,
they took me to the skies, to an ocean of stars.
What was only real in books and screens
was a guide to the endless sea.

Iridescent creams and polished seams
that led to pockets beyond glowing streams.
As the lights teem, I can only think,
"In the starry tide, worthy I've been deemed
of such beautiful dreams."

I arrived at an observatory.
Pen and parchment placed before me.
"Come now, young Mapmaker."
I drew a trail from here to there,
sang a song, and bid them all a fond farewell.
The landmarks seemed familiar.
A streak of light in pursuit
as I broke the atmosphere.
Back in my room still in slumber,
familiar air of warmth and comfort.
This is home.
