"Toxic Impromptu" is the third single from an upcoming album under the "Made with Brainwaves" recording series using E.E.G./Brainwaves (Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta), to control Buchla 200/200e systems, as well as other synthesizers via Control Voltages (CV), Pulses, and MIDI (both Notes and CC).
Partially inspired by the concept behind the Buchla E.E.G. Signal Conditioner Model 276, some early neurofeedback experiments conducted by David Rosenboom in the mid-70s, but primarily by a very personal experience, I started diving into the possibility of interfacing and controlling synthesizers with CV/Pulses, and MIDI data derived from E.E.G./Brainwaves about 8 years ago.
Thanks to both the Soundmachines BI1 Brainterface, and the Keen Association Control Voltage Interpreter Model 253e, the "Made with Brainwaves" experimental theme became a reality, yielding multiple compositions and recording sessions covering sub-genres such as psychedelic and electronic music, synthedelia, musique concrète, krautrock, krell, and ambient music.
Thank you for supporting my creations, the album is in the mixing & mastering stage!
Also, Davide Mancini and the Soundmachines team, Alex Pleninger and the Keen Association team, Alina Kalancea/SoundFreak Modular, Buchla, MagneticFreak, Studio H Software, Anabrid and Madrona Labs, thank you for your inspiring instruments.
