Written between Summer 2022 and Summer 2023, in this edition of STEEFmusic, I tried to be like Prince and write 30 songs, only using my most favorite group of songs for the album. NOTE that I did not say favorite SONGS, I specifically wanted the best GROUP - We're talking greater of the sum of its parts energy type shit, not really sure if I achieved that, I'd say so, but that's just my opinion, form your own opinion about it!

On this album entitled hngryhrnybrkn (pronounced hungry horny broken), I wanted to expand the sound of STEEF by experimenting with a wider variety of sound sources. The previous project, Post F was about being simple and freewheeling and sloppy and fun. 90% of that EP is clean/distorted DI strat, stock DX7 patches, and roland 707 and CR78 drum machines.

hngryhrnybrkn is still about all of those things but with more attention devoted to refining these wonky ideas. More sampling, more variety in drum machines/synths, more tracks!

I don't really know what this album is about, it's 14 periods of time captured between 2022 and 2023. Energetically, I'd say it's fun and absurd escapism with an underlying sense of paranoia, suffering, and angst. There's a lot of variety, elements of new wave, no wave, nu metal, zamrock, zolo, lounge jazz, drums n bass, etc whatever the fuck
