# PISTON PANIC

*"Piston Panic" ain't just an album, folks—it's a white-knuckle escape across the rusted-out remains of what used to be civilization.*

We started craftin' this tale during them long nights on the road, wonderin' what it'd be like if our tour bus was actually a steam-powered locomotive on the run. What came pourin' out was somethin' raw and real desperate.

This here's the story of folks just like you and me, trapped on a failin' steam train with automaton lawmen on their tail, crossin' a frontier where the gears are grindin' to a halt and the steam pipes are runnin' dry. You can hear them mechanical soldiers marchin' in "Iron March," and feel your canteen goin' empty in the parched desperation of "Dry Canteen."

We mixed our usual twang and steel with some machinery sounds we salvaged from an abandoned factory outside Nashville. Them grindin' gears you hear in "Falling Apart"? That's Rusty crankin' an actual 1890s water pump we fixed up special for this recordin'.

By the time you reach "The Ridge," you'll be grippin' your chair like you're right there on that bucklin' railroad trestle with the characters, metal screamin' and bendin' beneath you. Some folks at our live shows said that track gave 'em actual nightmares—we took that as the highest compliment.

This ain't your granddaddy's country music, nor your typical steampunk fare neither. It's somethin' that crawled outta the debris when those two worlds collided at high velocity.

The whole album's meant to be played start to finish—we built it so the tension winds up tighter with each track until that ridge gives way, then you're left with the aftermath. "Ghost Train" might just break your heart with what's left unsaid.

So stoke your boiler, check your gauges, and hold on tight. This here's "Piston Panic"—the sound of survival when the mechanical world's fallin' apart around you.
