From 1986-1988 STEAMSHOVEL MONKEY was a direct response against ALL so-called "popular music" and culture at the time. The Monkeys re-purposed items from the local junkyards of Eugene Oregon with which they crafted and reshaped in order to create what would become their signature sound.
