I wanted to build, for it all somehow to add up,
To cross it all in time, that faint, elusive line

To spare you from it, I kept it all to myself
Had I ever felt so tired, guilty, uninspired?

Trying to find, in a lifetime spent at full stretch,
All I felt I lacked. I’d never meant to refract it all

But somewhere midway, an unfastening, a letting go
All it really takes is one. I’m something else now than I was

Realising we deserved better, deserved clearer than that
All you disavowed — I think I finally understand now what it meant

I remember what a difference that alone made,
To survive another mile. Please, keep me here a while

Wanting only to be believable, to feel honestly
The glow in every new, of finding home in you
