I fear I’ve spent just a little too long,
That I’ve been living here much too slow
Maybe these things come in waves, and it’s only as awful as what you know

I still have no idea if it worked,
But this’ll take some time. It takes more than time
I’ve been trying to slough it off and slink back beside that centreline

Still, I can’t help but feel that something’s been lost
And I’m forgetting all I’d learned
It never felt like the only thing
Out here in our tired world

See, I started to believe I was running out
Wasn’t enough to expect it for once
It all comes back to the way it felt
In your crisp and perfect ignorance

Waking up to this new life, it’s not so intangible
But still I don’t twig it, I don't get it at all!
Maybe I couldn’t tell you if I was sinking again
Blurring into another, I’m lost in the end!

Wrong! I was wrong, it hangs by a thread!
I hadn’t realised I’d been away
It’s not endless (though it’s not over yet);
I can feel the seams now if I try!
If it’s all as I feared,
Yes, I am ridiculous
But what has that really shaped?
Does any of this matter in the end?
