Form & Method by Ourá

Following their initial collaboration, Foreseer and Heavenly Bodies return with their second release: "Ourá – Form & Method"

Inspired by Precious Pearl, a 15th-century alchemical manuscript by Petrus Bonus, a physician from Ferrara, Italy, the album explores a theoretical pursuit of the philosopher’s stone—a legendary substance believed to transform base metals into gold. Each track is named after a stage in the alchemical process, creating a conceptual pilgrimage through sound and theory.

“From Chaos”, Opens with distorted synths and powerful bass hits, evolving beat by beat to simulate growing disorder. This rising turmoil eventually transforms into a transcendent synthscape, seamlessly flowing into the next track, “The Substance”.

Moving ahead, “Permixtion” stands out with its elegant start—mystical pads create a heavenly atmosphere, drifting into spacious flickering chimes, mellow pads, and soft, airy drumming. The chimes gradually dominate, blending into textured white noise, creating a spacious, ethereal atmosphere.

The album’s climactic point arrives with “The Perfect Being”, a long, expressive composition. It opens with ominous cinematic pads, evoking the sensation of floating in space. Soft, textural drums gradually emerge, while noise and delicate vocal textures shimmer before fading out. The piece culminates in rumbling bass—a metallic strike, and majestic choir vocals—a masterful blend of divinity and atmosphere, marking one of Ourá’s most memorable works.

Following this peak, “Fermentation” offers a concentrated and refined reprise of the previous track, featuring holy choir vocals in varied pitches with a deep resonant bass that supports its celestial tone.

The album concludes with “The Ruby Colour”, symbolising the philosopher’s stone itself. Tasteful noise textures combined with an enchanting pad bring the musical interpretation of this mystical goal to a thoughtful close.
