Venus by St. Alia of the Knife
This isn't a giant leap forward. I'm not using a bunch of new tricks that I didn't use on the last album. This is more of an exercise in refining what i was already doing over the last couple of years. it's a big rock guitar album with a few detours into synth land. It's not tricky enough to be Math Rock. it's not patient enough to be Post Rock. It's not smart enough to be Jazz. But I've been listening to all of those things and I can hear their influence on the songs even if they aren't obvious to anyone else.
