St. Alia of the Knife is Mat Rothwell Amyx, a 90s kid that grew up loving Nirvana, Pavement, Da La Soul, and the Chemical Brothers. After a classic nerd stint studying art in college, Mat has dedicated himself to applying the right emotional expressive aesthetics as much as any musical theory to his songs. He has since recorded many, MANY albums of proggy/shoegazey/post-rocky lo-fi D.I.Y. music.
