These pieces were exploring rhythms and patterns at different levels or time frames: physical processes > immediate experience > lifetime > civilisation > geological > cosmological. I was interested in incorporating more rhythmic elements without displacing drones and textures. Many of these started as random patterns from a drone commander and sequencer - nothing could really be controlled deliberately so the approach was mainly based on capturing the most interesting accidents and building from there.
