This recording has many issues. First of all, the reservoir is surrounded by roads, so its difficult how to place the mics (cardoid) because there is no form to avoid that noise. I could place the mics in the water focus on the opposite direction but another issue is people: walking with dogs, runners, bikers (who has the ugly custom to talk between each other screaming,...) so I could record better the birds, but the humans too. The sound of water has the main importance because of that reasons. It was interesting, and you can see a bit in the recording, that the weather change and it affected the sound of the little waves on the water...from a quiet waves to a louder sound in the track 3. I has no uploaded the quietest part because of the general noise that surrounded the place. There is a white noise too, maybe from the microphones (they have -9 bb(A) of self noise)...
Whatever, it was a relaxing morning, enjoying wildlife, that can be listened in this tracks. Specially interesting, the screaming of the milvus migrans in the track 2.
I placed an hydrophone wich is the track 4. Really funny the constant sound that you can hear.... JrF Hydros are very sensitive, so they catch very well the constant vibration underwater... Its a fake stereo made with two mono tracks (I have just one mic), but very accurate to the real stereo image of the underwater.
*to listen: quiet place, volume 40%-60% (better headphones)
Equipment:
Sound Devices Mixpre3
Se X1s (2x) ORTF
JrF Hydrophone
Boya Blimps
