Saucy from Fossilillies by Son Step
"Saucy”, perhaps the album’s most upbeat track, is a quirky trip into pepped up tropical riffs and nostalgic territory. Percussive stabs and queasy staccato keyboards mix with Joel Gleiser’s colorful sonic brush strokes, and all the while the band maintains a lockstep tightness. By the song’s hypnotic climax you are bombarded with sounds that are at once unfamiliar and ecstatic. Impressively, it’s the combination of those two elements that can be found in so many nooks and crannies throughout ‘Fossilillies’.
