The Lake from Osek by Sonicity

I was standing at the banks of Lake, at the exact point where the water from a distant river Ohře is fed into what once was an open-pit coal mine and where part of town Most was. It transformed into an artificial lake. The site is an intersection of timescales: industrial past, environmental reshaping, and deeper historical memory. In the stream of the sound of rushing water through iron structures you can almost hear something else: echoes of lost lives, lost architecture, venues, streets, histories submerged. After 8 years since this recording was made, I sailed on the lake in a small boat, and my thoughts turned again inward to the medieval town down on the bottom of the lake. In the reverberations of the iron structure, there is almost a ghostly presence: resonance of voices swallowed by history.
