Min Q from Buddy System by Sabo, Saint Flip
“Min Q” has the oldest story of all, as this was originally an idea I started back in 2014, when I borrowed a friends TR-8 drum machine. My idea was to make an old school electro sounding Moombahton track with Nadastrom. Matt is one half of Nadastrom, as well the mix engineer for Dubfire, and many classic Deep Dish records. I went to Matt’s (Saint Flip) studio and we laid down the initial groove, but for some reason, never came back to it. I recently found it on an old hard drive, and kept developing it. I sent the idea to Matt and he liked the progress. So, we went back and forth online, and the result is this super funky track, which to me, pays homage to our old Moombah days, but also has a nice fresh new acid dub twist.
