Soleil Satan by Ecce Homo & Miguel A. Garcia

Miguel A. García (aka Xedh) is a sound artist from the Basque country, working mainly in the field of electro-acoustic composition and improvisation. He usally uses sounds taken from electronic devices residues, often interrelated with field recordings or acoustic instruments, in the search of an intimate, intense and immersive experience. His background comprises fine arts and audiovisual technology, questioning the borders between different genres like electro-acoustic academic music, noise music, extreme metal, dark ambient and the so called outsider music.

With his solo project or different groups, he has played in countries like Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Russia & USA. His extense body of work has been released worldwide by many labels. He has collaborated with with artists like Alfredo Costa Monteiro, Jean-Luc Guionnet, Jason Kahn, Daunik Lazro, Francisco Lopez, Francisco Meirino or Seijiro Murayama. With Black Earth, his most "black metal" influenced project, he has released records in Malignant Records, Bile Noire, Sentient Ruin and Graceless Recordings.

Hagimont played in various bands like french no-doom/drone act HABSYLL (tUMULt, At war with false noise, Conspiracy records, Public guilt), dark ambiant indstrial COBER ORD (Phage Tapes, Mantra spectra, Steelwork Maschine, Cyclic Law), ECCE HOMO (vocal harsh noise project, Cioran Records) or improvised acoustic project "O" (Antenna records) among others. He's also involved in black metal scene as a sound engineer for 20 years now and workedwith bands like Darvulia, Malkhebre, Monarch!... He also develops sound installations in solo exhibitions in various art centers (GRAPH (Carcassonne), MEM fest (Bilbao), DAF fest (Geneva)...). He's graduated in french litterature & linguistic and worked on rhythm in contemporary poetry.

Soleil Satan is an avant-garde/black metal duo including Miguel A. Garcia (Spain) and Y. Hagimont (France). Name comes from a Georges Bernanos's novel, "Sous le soleil de Satan". Soleil Satan is a meeting between contemporary music (Xenakis, Cage, Pierre Henry, etc.) and raw black metal vocals, used to develop textures as well as narration.
