Sugarcane EP by Protokhal

Protokhal’s music hearkens back to simpler times - the mid 90s when drum and bass and jungle were charting in the UK and pirate radio stations blared out promises of a brighter future. Sugarcane is the Victoria, BC based producer's first EP, adding three new tracks to his existing body of work on the Snakes x Ladders label. Heavily influenced by the sounds of the legendary Asian Underground movement, which gave rise to luminaries like Talvin Singh and Nitin Sawhney, this EP explores this classic sound - while updating it and making it fully his own.
