Thursday by Couch
Our first release for 2020 comes in slowly from Sydney based electro-acoustic duo Couch. 'Thursday' is out next Thursday on c44 cassette and download.
'Thursday' is taken from a period of semi-frequent Thursday afternoon recording sessions between 'Couch' - the duo of Laura Altman (Great Waitress, BB+Cam, Prophets, Splinter Orchestra, Chaika) and Danny Wild (Low Flung, Subcell). Thursday was the most convenient day of the week for the two to meet up, come the title. The issue of time management is quickly lost when dissolving into these 2 long form recordings, where meandering motifs of acoustic and synthetic feedback flow freely throughout the tracks. An exercise in slowing down, hopefully this release can encourage you to get offline and indulge in nothing at all.
