Total Presence by Richard Knox
Total Presence is the latest solo release from A-Sun Amissa founder and Gizeh Records overlord Richard Knox and his debut for the Sensory Leakage label. These two 30 minute drone explorations were recorded live in a single take, utilising electric guitar and an array of fx pedals. No mixing. No overdubs.
Knox's approach here marries together distortion, ambience and feedback into a deep claustrophobic and resonant atmosphere. An undulating, vibrational drift that evolves and builds and crumbles and sustains in equal measure. Total Presence is an exploration in density and tone, an experimental trip in pursuit of present meaning.
