Snow from Snow by Skyko

As I was writing "Snow", I was inspired by memories: A warm comfortable summer turning into a cool, autumn, Halloween - then melting into the blistery cold of the dark, wintery, Christmas months. I also drew upon my adventures traveling to the mountains and spending days snowboarding and the evenings relaxing, drinking wine by the light of a crackling fire.

I contrasted the traditional touch of a classical nylon string guitar, and live electric bass guitar with the synthetic sounds of analog synthesizers and drum samples to arrive at a culmination of styles that I hope convey both the warmth of live performance with that of a sequenced, computerized, contemporary electronic feel.

A side note: For those familiar with 70's pop culture you may notice the album cover's font and deliberate omission of the Snoopy character, (commonly sitting on top of his doghouse). These artistic decisions are symbolic of the current melancholy world devoid of their ever-loving, faithful, canine best friend. Are we now a society without hope? Without warmth? Without any tethering to our benevolent creator?
